Ed Woodward has been briefing various newspaper hacks, which is why everyone has the story that Louis van Gaal has two games to save his job. You can read about that in the Guardian, but you might want to consider whether this is really how clubs operate. Two draws, after all, wouldn't keep his job, would it? Van Gaal might be gone sooner than that, if that decision is the one being leaked.

At the Mirror, they think that Jose Mourinho is in line to replace Van Gaal. Mourinho has wanted the job for years, and sections of United's executives have felt the same. Bobby Charlton won't be happy, but maybe they can give him some more tickets to cheer him up.

On ESPNFC, Riyad Mahrez has said that he'd be stupid to leave Leicester City in the winter transfer window. There is sense in that, but also a load of money could change his mind, and his club's. I'm not sure he'd be able to displace Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata though. Ell oh ell.

From the Telegraph, some more transfer news in their round-up. Manchester United could move for Robert Lewandowski. Well, Carlo Ancelotti isn't the most inspiring manager. Maybe he really likes the idea of being managed by Ryan "Giggsy" Giggs.

And lastly, in the Manchester Evening News, Juan Mata has said sorry for United being completely rubbish.
