Manchester United will play Sheffield United in the third round of the 2015-16 FA Cup. The game will be played at Old Trafford over the weekend of 9-10 January, though since United always seem to end up on television, it might get moved to the following Monday, or possibly even the previous Friday.
Sheffield United have been in middling form so far this season, and are currently 12th in League One. Nigel Adkins took over at Bramall Lane over the summer after Nigel Clough failed to achieve promotion and was dismissed, but the former Southampton manager has so far failed to have much of a positive impact on results.
The two Uniteds haven't met for eight years, ever since the Blades dropped out of the Premier League in 2006-07. The last time they met in the FA Cup was in 1995, when United won 2-0 away from home. The goals that day came from Eric Cantona and Mark Hughes. Oh, for a Mark Hughes nowadays.
