Juan Mata confirms midfielder set to leave United

The rumours that Manchester United midfielder Anderson was set for a long overdue exit to Brazil have been confirmed, rather oddly, by Juan Mata. Reporting in his weekly blog, the Spaniard wrote "Also, I want to wish good luck to my friend Anderson, who is back to football in his native Brazil. All the best, my friend."

Now, before you break out the party poppers and champagne (who cares that it's Monday morning?!) there is still actually no official word from either party on this news. For all we know, Anderson may stil be trying to thrash out a deal with the club. The Guardian claim that Internacional's hopes of signing him are still "in the balance."

So, this is still a space that is to be watched. Not particularly interesting, but it's probably the best we're going to get on what is expected to be a pretty slow deadline day for United.
