Manchester United's young scamperer limped out of last night's U21 game against Sunderland, and though the injury is nothing serious -- a dead leg -- he is now a doubt for the weekend's game against the same opposition. Except they probably won't play the reserves.
Wilson's doubtfulness is good news for Radamel Falcao loyalists and the Keep Wayne Striking brigade. With Robin van Persie last seen on crutches, Louis van Gaal is down to just two strikers, and as such may not be able to continue to pretend that one of them is a midfielder. However, Wilson's pace is sorely needed in the squad, if not perhaps the first team, so let's hope he recovers enough to make the bench.
The U21's game finished 1-1, since you were wondering. Andreas Pereira got the opener for United, but Tyler Blackett was later sent off for pushing an opponent. Sadiq El-Fitouri, United's newest signing, made his first appearance for the reserves.
