By now, most Manchester United fans have probably resigned themselves to the fact that David de Gea will leave Old Trafford at the end of his current contract. The Spaniard will opt to move on to Real Madrid and establish himself as Iker Casillas' long term heir; going on to win more Champions League and La Liga medals than you could fill a Krispy Kreme doughnut cabinet with.
However, there may yet be good news at the end of this tiresome contractual saga, with Big Dave's agent, Jorge Mendes, declaring that talks are currently ongoing ... with United! Inside Spanish Football have translated an interview with Mendes, in which he says:
"It's not true that [de Gea to Real Madrid is] a done deal. I'm negotiating his renewal. We haven't signed anything. Now, what happens ... the players decide what they want. There are negotiations and the first option seems for him to continue [at Manchester United], but he hasn't signed anything yet."
Well, in that case, GIVE THE MAN A PEN!
