Mixed injury news ahead of the weekend. Manchester United's inspirational captain, but also more than a captain, more like a friend, or maybe an older brother, a really cool older brother, the kind of older brother who would lend you tapes of bands you'd never heard of, will be fit to face West Brom. See?

However, there are still a few injuries knocking around. Luke Shaw is out again, having done something to his groin, and Jonny Evans, who has been suspended for six games, has celebrated his newfound eligibility by knackering his sciatic nerve. We don't know what that is, but it sounds painful.
However, van Gaal says Luke Shaw is out due to a groin problem and Jonny Evans is also injured. #MUTV

Finally, Robin van Persie is back, baby, having scored twice for the U21s midweek, and Phil Jones is also fit. Sort of. We'll be honest, we don't know what this means.
The manager also tells #MUTV that Phil Jones is fit but will have his match rhythm assessed, while Robin van Persie is available.

Syncopated defending, with Philip Anthony Jones.
Update: Michael Carrick is still knackered as well. That sound you can hear is a million million 'Carrick is United's most important player' blogs being born.
