Ángel Di María and Marcos Rojo are off to the Copa América

United's Argentines will summer in Chile.

Though they've both had mixed seasons disrupted by injury, and though they've both been in and out of the first team, Marcos Rojo and Ángel Di María have remained in the thoughts of their country. Argentina will compete in the Copa América in Chile this summer, and both United's Argentines have been called up to coach Tata Martino's provisional squad.

Explaining his inclusion of Di María, Martino addressed he player's poor form:

It hurts me, the situation that he has had to endure. But it doesn't change anything for me, he is an extraordinary player. The route that he took wasn't easy, it was a big jump from Real Madrid to Manchester.

Both Di Maria and Rojo were established first team players under Martino's predecessor, Alejandro Sabella, and both should make the cut when the provisional squad is whittled down from 30 to 23. The tournament runs from 11 June until 4 July, and as such both will likely miss most if not all of United's preseason. Assuming, that is, Di María's still a United player when the summer ends ...
