Last night, live on Sky Sports 1 and free to anybody within walking distance of Old Trafford, Manchester United's U21 side (aka "the reserves") played Manchester City's Elite Development Squad (aka "you're not fooling anybody, folks, they're still the reserves"). United fielded Adnan Januzaj and James Wilson, and despite the absence of a couple of others — Andreas Pereira was off with Brazil, while Sean Goss had picked up a knock — rattled four past the visitors.
