Real Madrid bid £13 million for Manchester United's David de Gea - reports

According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid have offered £13 million for David de Gea as the first round of negotiation between the two clubs start.

United will doubtless reject the first offer given its obviously low value, and this will not be the end of the negotiations. While De Gea is in his last year, and United are resigned to losing the goalkeeper, they would expect to receive at least £18 million for him, roughly the same they paid for De Gea when he joined from Atletico Madrid.

There is also the possibility that United might look to involve other players in the transfer, or set up deals at the same time for Karim Benzema or Sergio Ramos, both of whom have been linked with United in recent weeks.

Iker Casillas is still at the club, but Real will try to send him elsewhere before the start of the season, though Rafa Benitez's presence ensures that Real Madrid will remain a joke of a side determined to never fulfil their potential (not that United are much better in that regard).
