As has widely been expected, it seems that Manchester United winger Luis Nani will not get the chance to impress Louis van Gaal or United fans, nor to frustrate them both. According to the Sun, Nani is linked with a move to Fenerbahce this summer.
He is apparently going to sign a contract worth £3 million a year, and this comes after a year in Portugal with his former club Sporting Lisbon, where he intermittently impressed, but Sporting were never going to be able to afford his wages, which were subsidised by United as part of the Marcos Rojo transfer.
Nani was part of what looked like an incredible transfer window for Manchester United in 2007, including Anderson, Carlos Tevez and Owen Hargreaves - all of whom eventually or quickly disappointed.
