Manchester United confident over £7.5 million Bastian Schweinsteiger transfer

Manchester United are optimistic that a £7.5 million bid will be enough to convince Bastian Schweinsteiger to leave Bayern Munich to spend the last few years of his career at Old Trafford, and David de Gea has told his team-mates he's leaving for Real Madrid.

Steve Bates is one of the better journalists about, and every week has the team news from United before anybody else seems to. He clearly knows his stuff, so when he reports that Manchester United are confident that Bastian Schweinsteiger will join United, then you should pay attention.

For the purpose of clarity, that doesn't mean Schweinsteiger will join United, it just means that Bates isn't just pulling names out of the air and writing the story on a whim. Something is up regarding Schweinsteiger, and we can wait and see what. Him and Schneiderlin would be an excellent upgrade on Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini - we can all agree on that. You can read this here. in the Sunday People

There's a few more stories in the Mirror here. David de Gea has told his team-mates that he wants to leave United. Er, yes, they know already, David. Jasper Cillessen, one of his potential replacements has acknowledged that Ajax do not really want to sell this summer, and so any transfer will be far harder than Daley Blind's or Memphis Depay's. Speaking of Depay, there's a warning about his behaviour from scouts and Ronald Koeman. You can read the De Gea story in full here.

Grzegorz Krychowiak is apparently linked with a move to United, as well as Arsenal. It's the first I've seen of that, and I've no idea what he does or who he is. That's here.

Lastly, on ESPNFC, Andy Mitten has written knowledgeably and fairly on Radamel Falcao's time at United and future with ChelseaHave a look.
