Real Madrid make plans for Sergio Ramos exit to Manchester United

Real Madrid are considering a move for Valencia's Nicolas Otamendi as Manchester United prepare a new, improved bid for Sergio Ramos. Morgan Schneiderlin and, possibly, Bastian Schweinsteiger, could join him at Old Trafford.

Manchester United's pursuit of Sergio Ramos continues. On the one hand, in the Daily Mail, there's a story that Real Madrid are losing the battle to keep hold of him. Real have put a £65 million pound pricetag on Ramos, but should he claim he wants to leave in public, then you can expect that to fall.

In ESPNFC, there's something similar, saying that while Real are saying their are refusing to countenance selling Ramos to United, they are, despite that, sizing up Nicolas Otamendi as his potential replacement. That's here.

In terms of exits, the David de Gea news rumbles on, but in the Mirror there's a story that Everton retain an interest in taking Adnan Januzaj on loan next season. Maybe it's linked to a phantom deal for Nicolas Gaitan. Ha. Ha. Ha. Read that here.

The Manchester Evening News has a story on why Bastian Schweinsteiger is so attractive to Louis van Gaal, and the qualities he'd bring, should he sign. There remains a possibility that should Morgan Schneiderlin sign - as is now expected - that United will maintain their interest in the Bayern Munich midfielder. You can read  that one here.

In the Times, there's an article that summarises much of the above, but also includes the news that United are getting Angel Di Maria on the steak and eggs, to stop him being such a ludicrous waif. It's behind a paywall, here, and you have to admire that.
