Angel Di Maria endured a poor season at Manchester United after his hugely expensive move from Real Madrid last summer. Due to injuries, poor form and a disruptive break-in at his home, the player rarely hit the heights that he had shown possible during a season when he won the Champions League.
That was compounded by the resurgence of Ashley Young on the left wing, and Marouane Fellaini's effectiveness in playing attacking midfield, and also by a terribly daft red card against Arsenal, for touching a referee.
However, it looks likely that Di Maria will stay at Old Trafford for at least another year, and this tournament has been seen as a way for him to play himself back into form, as United strengthen in other areas in the transfer window.
Di Maria also played alongside his current United team mate Marcos Rojo and potential colleague Nicolas Otamendi in a 6-1 victory over Paraguay. You can see both his goals here.
