Manchester United appear to have no intention of stopping in the transfer window as Louis van Gaal and Ed Woodward continue to rebuild the squad before the start of the new Premier League season.

It has long been expected that David de Gea will leave for Real Madrid, who yesterday sold Iker Casillas to Porto, after treating him disgracefully for two years. United are attempting to insert Sergio Ramos into any transfer for the goalkeeper, but do not plan to make Victor Valdes first choice. As such, they have gone back to De Gea's former club, Atletico Madrid, and bid £21 million for Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

At the other end of the pitch, Edinson Cavani has been linked with United since David Moyes was in charge, and United are in more need of a new striker than they have been in years. Radamel Falcao was sent back to Monaco, and has now moved on another loan to Chelsea. With Robin van Persie also leaving, on his way to Fenerbahce to join Luis Nani, Cavani has been suggested as a suitable replacement. It is possible that any transfer would involve Angel Di Maria travelling in the opposite direction.
