Manchester United open talks for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Spurs for Harry Kane, while David de Gea will train with United despite links to other goalkeepers like Asmir Begovic and Fernando Muslera.

David de Gea is calm about his return to Manchester as Real Madrid have failed to secure his signing swiftly, offering a pittance and then becoming discombobulated by Edward Woodwad's move for Sergio Ramos. There've been rumours that he is getting hacked off with Real diddling about with the transfer, but it would still be a surprise if he starts the season at  United.

That's partly because there are continual rumours about United searching for his replacement. One, mentioned in the Mirror, along with the above story, is that Asmir Begovic is being touted despite Chelsea's interest. You would imagine Begovic - just as he would be at Chelsea - would be a number two goalkeeper, but a particularly handy one. Louis van Gaal, after all, does not rate Anders Lindegaard. You can read both these stories in the Mirror, here.

The Manchester Evening News has a report from a Turkish paper, Vatan, saying that Fernando Muslera has been linked with a £25 million bid by United, to get him away from Galatasaray. That is an enormous amount of money for someone literally nobody in the world has heard of. That's here.

Lastly, the Sun think that Manchester United have opened talks with Spurs for Harry Kane. This can't be discounted - there's definitely some interest from United, and they seem happy to let Robin van Persie head for the exit. United will bring in a striker of some kind.
