Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj could gain valuable first-team experience at Premier League club Sunderland.
According to the Guardian, Louis van Gaal's fellow Dutchman, Dick Advocaat, wants to add Januzaj and Liverpool forward Fabio Borini to his Sunderland squad as the team prepare for another campaign trying to avoid relegation.
Januzaj did not feature in Manchester United's season opener against Tottenham Hotspur, and rarely played for the side in Van Gaal's first season. In this summer's friendly, he played as a striker, claiming a well-taken goal against Barcelona. It was thought that Januzaj might have been used by a striker by Van Gaal this season, as United were looking light on options up front.
However, with Manchester United seemingly set to sign Pedro from Barcelona before the transfer window shuts, there's a less pressing need to keep Januzaj in the first team squad, and he may ultimately benefit from experience elsewhere. There are also suggestions that Javier Hernandez may be United's second-choice season, with Harry Kane set to remain at Tottenham Hotspur.
