Manchester United have reportedly bid £60 million, or 85 million euros, for Bayern Munich's forward Thomas Muller.
United are known to be in the market for a forward as Wayne Rooney's form continues to wane, and Javier Hernandez and James Wilson are unlikely to be regarded as sufficient cover for a side with title ambitions, and the rigours of European football as they look set for the 2015/16 group stages. United's win 3-1 win over Club Brugge on Tuesday night made that possibility almost certain.
United were rumoured to have bid 70 million euros last week for Muller, and the Sunday Express reported that Muller had told friends he would consider a move to United after his relationship with Bayern manager Pep Guardiola became strained. It appears that United are attempting to force the German into requesting a transfer, and open up the possibility of a huge move.
