Memphis gave the ball away 35 times against Newcastle United as Manchester United struggled to break down their opponents, in a game which ended 0-0.
United started promisingly, as did Memphis, who found plenty of room on the left wing to work in, but he couldn't convert his opportunities into many chances, or any goals.
He said after the match that he knew he would have to improve, and understood that the standard in England is much higher than it is in the Netherlands:
"Opponents are more organised here. The Premier League is stronger than in Holland everybody knows that.
"I could have finished a couple of chances but I didn't and I have to work on that.
"It was frustrating. We started great and sharp and we created some chances but didn't finish them. The second half also we created some more chances but again we didn't finish it so that was the frustration.
"When you look back you have to say it was one of those days but we have to start finishing. But we have to look forward and train and be ready for Club Brugge on Wednesday."
He also said that Wayne Rooney was helping him settle into his new side, and provides him with advice:
"Wayne Rooney helps me a lot."
"He has a lot of experience. He already knows everything about the football world so if I have any questions I can ask him."
