According to reports in the Telegraph today, Manchester United have held early talks with Alexandre Pato's representatives about signing the 25-year-old Brazilian forward.

Pato currently plays for Sao Paolo, on loan from Corinthians, where he has played for two seasons. He played 57 games for Corinthians in his season for the club, and almost 40 on both occasions for Sao Paolo, suggesting that his major injury worries are behind him. At 25, he might still have some time to regain his form as one of the most threatening forwards in European football, which he was during his finest seasons at AC Milan.

The report also suggests that a deal for Sadio Mane could still take place, but that United will need to act quickly to secure a deal before the end of the transfer window. United remain interested in a superstar like Gareth Bale of Real Madrid, but understand that a deal is not likely.
