Right, there are two big rumours ahead of the first match today.

Before them, though, make sure you've read Jack Sargeant's match preview, and you know where the how to watch and match thread is.

With the departure of Angel Di Maria, Louis van Gaal has decided that Manchester United need to more signings. He said to MUTV:

I have said that we need players with speed and creativity - Di Maria is a player like that and now he is gone, so we need that type of player.

You can read the full quotes on the Mirror, where he acknowledges because of the problems with David de Gea - who will not play against Spurs today - United may need yet another player this summer, to replace him. That's in the Mirror, here.

And the Telegraph explains the De Gea position. It seems like De Gea can't handle the Real situation, and that Real have not offered a sensible price for the goalkeeper yet. Van Gaal is not saying that an exit is inevitable, but it looks closer to that each week. If he goes, expect Hugo Lloris or Jasper Cillessen to arrive. You can read about this here.
