The Mail on Sunday think that United are going to reject a bid of £25 million this week from Real Madrid, for David de Gea, as they wait for an offer nearer the £35 million mark. That's here, and just one of seven million goalkeeping transfer stories today.
Marca are reporting that United have also bid £25 for a goalkeeper, Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak, who was De Gea's replacement (after Thibaut Courtois' loan spell from Chelsea ended), and might have to offer more than that to secure his signature. There's an explanation of the story in English in the Telegraph.
The Mirror are hot for goalkeeper stories:
1. Hugo Lloris remains in the sights of United, and Spurs will ask £20 million for the France goalkeeper, with Daniel Levy aware that the 'keeper wants to try his luck in the Champions League. That's here.
2. Louis van Gaal has not admitted defeat in trying to keep De Gea, and says that there's a chance that he could still be with United after the transfer window closes, which you can read here.
3. Ajax are increasing the price of Jasper Cillessen, as the longer it takes for United to make their decision, the harder it is for the Dutch side to find their own replacement. Look at the quotes, if you want.
And lastly, I was in the Eurosport office on Saturday, and so wrote about the impact of the five new signings who played yesterday for them, and that blog is here.
