Bad news from Manchester United's Champions League group stage opener away at PSV Eindhoven: left-back Luke Shaw sustained a potentially serious injury after being on the receiving end of a heavy Héctor Moreno challenge. The young defender's leg folded beneath him after contact was made with his right shin, and the fear is that it could be a break.
Of course, this is first and foremost a bitter blow for a young player who'd worked hard on his fitness over the summer, and his early impressive performances this season suggested he was ready to push on and establish himself as a crucial player in Louis van Gaal's starting lineup. However, it's also a big sporting blow for United, with Shaw's link with Memphis down the left flank having shown plenty of promise.
Let's hope it isn't as bad as it looks, but the signs certainly aren't good. We'll keep you posted on the details.

It's about as bad as it could've been. Get well soon, Luke.
