Even a team like Manchester United is able to provide some players to international countries, and some of them manage to win games in style when they are on duty. However, this was not one of those weeks for Dutch, Belgian and Italian United players.
Daley Blind was substituted with sixteen minutes remaining of his side's 3-0 defeat to Turkey. The Netherlands now can only qualify for the Euro 2016 tournament by earning place through the play-offs. Memphis also played, as did ex-United player Robin van Persie, but the side was unable to create a single goal for the side.
Marouane Fellaini played most of the match for Belgium against Cyprus, as his side struggled to a 1-0 win away from home. Adnan Januzaj, on the bench and now on loan at Borussia Dortmund, did not feature.
Lastly, Matteo Darmian was part of an Italian defence that beat Bulgaria at home with a 1-0 victory. Daniele De Rossi managed the always enjoyable achievement of scoring the winner and then getting sent off. Incredibly, Darmian was not booked in the match.
