How should Manchester United line up against Newcastle United?

Which tactics and formation should Manchester United use in their Premier League match against Newcastle United?

Louis van Gaal will try to pick a side for the Premier League match against Newcastle United that does not leave him bored and angry.

With Juan Mata and Ander Herrera removed and replaced by Memphis and Jesse Lingard, the improvement in performance might be rewarded with starts for them from the start.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is an injury doubt, and with Morgan Schneiderlin confirmed as fit, the German midfielder might be rested ahead of the game against Liverpool at the weekend.

Marouane Fellaini was another player subbed off, and while Andreas Pereira was a superior performer, it's fair to predict that Michael Carrick will be used in his place, as Van Gaal usually does. Similarly, while Wayne Rooney was terrible against Sheffield United, the manager will presumably shuffle his patch in such a way to keep him on the pitch.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson may keep his place at left-back, but as Ashley Young is fit, it's probably he will take over in defence, with the rest of the line-up unchanged.
