After beating Derby County 3-1 on Friday night, Manchester United have drawn Shrewsbury Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Derby proved poor opposition but nevertheless troubled a miserable United side in the first half, but Shrewsbury Town should be an even weaker team.

Shrewsbury are having an even worse season than United, and currently sit 20th in League One.

Louis van Gaal will regard the FA Cup as his best hope of silverware in his time at the club. It is not expected that he will see out his contract, and he may even be removed before the end of this season. With the Europa League filled with sides who are actually good, United stand no chance, and Van Gaal has thrown away any chance of the Premier League after overseeing a run of eight wins in 23 matches.

United should progress, but let's not pretend we'll be surprised if they get done.
