Southampton forward Sadio Mane - a target for Manchester United from this summer onwards - has reportedly told his current club that he will not sign a new contract. Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also interested in his signature, according to a story in the Mirror.

If Mane makes it clear that he will not sign a contract, then Southampton will eventually be forced to sell their player in order to maximise any potential financial return.

After the failure of the pursuit of Pedro by Manchester United, due to Edward Woodward's hubris, United leaked Mane's name as a potential target. It has later emerged that Mane is being considered as a target for United in the January window, as United and Louis van Gaal are aware that they need to take the strain off Wayne Rooney and add pace and creativity to the side.

Felipe Anderson and Gareth Bale are also targets.
