With Manchester United travelling to take on Chelsea this weekend, all the pre-match hype will be around José Mourinho taking on his former employers.
The Portuguese coach was fired by the Blues last December, so he’ll be extra-motivated to prove a point by beating Antonio Conte’s men.
It will be only the second time that Mourinho has ever been in the away dugout at Stamford Bridge. The first was with Internazionale in 2010 when the Nerazzurri came away with a 1-0 win to dump Chelsea out of the Champions League; Mourinho’s men went on to win the Treble that season.
Aside from the added intrigue surrounding the United manager, there will be plenty at stake out on the field. With Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur dropping points this weekend, the Stamford Bridge showdown will be a great opportunity for either side to close the gap on some of the teams further up the league table.
In some early team news, the Manchester Evening News is reporting that neither Wayne Rooney nor Henrikh Mkhitaryan have travelled to London with the rest of the squad.
