Manchester United will look to bounce back from their miserable defeat to Chelsea when they host cross-town rivals City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. Despite United’s home advantage, it’s probably City who head in as favourites: they've already scraped a 2-1 win at Old Trafford so far this season, and racked up 10 straight wins in all competitions in a blistering start to life under Pep Guardiola.
However, United can take heart from the fact that City have now not won any of their last five. Their draw at home to Southampton on the weekend came on the back of a thrashing to Barcelona, and it has become very quickly apparent that they’re not unbeatable. It will be a tough game, but certainly not an impossible one.
