Manchester United vs. Burnley: time, TV schedule and live stream

The Red Devils will be hoping to avoid an upset against Sean Dyche’s Clarets

It’s been a funny seven days for Manchester United.

The humiliation of the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday was eased by a morale-boosting 1-0 derby victory over Manchester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

And that kind of encapsulates how the season has gone so far for United. After a strong start, José Mourinho’s men have been a picture of inconsistency. The emphatic 4-1 win over Premier League champions Leicester City last month looked like the result of a team clicking and reaching their potential, but it proved to be a false dawn.

Against Burnley on Saturday (29 October), the Red Devils have a chance to lay down a marker, to show the rest of the Premier League that they should still be considered title contenders, that we won’t be scrapping for fourth place again come May.

The newly promoted visitors will be no pushovers -- they’ve already beaten high flying Liverpool this season -- but this is an eminently winable fixture for United.

Three points, as always, is the number one priority. But a strong performance here has to be a close second.
