It's Europa League time again, and there's a few big names missing from Manchester United's squad. Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick and Memphis Depay have all been left in Manchester, as have the ineligible Bastian Schweinsteiger — not registered for the Europa League — and the injured Antonio Valencia.
However. In more exciting news, mystery man Henrikh Mkhitaryan has travelled, which is an important first step towards him actually playing some football for Manchester United. And in news so damn exciting that tBB has actually fainted six times during the writing of this sentence, Phil Jones is back.
PHIL JONES IS BACK.
A glorious return for Phil Jones in his full majesty is exactly what this turbulent world needs right now. We don't ask for much, Lord. We're not greedy people. But please, give us this. Give us back our galumphing rubber-faced hero. Give us back the man who made the greatest tackle of all time. Give us back our Philip Anthony Jones.
Full squad: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone, Blind, Jones, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Shaw, Fellaini, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young, Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford, Rooney
Totally uninformed guess at the starting XI: De Gea, Fosu-Mensah, JONES (c), Blind, Shaw, Herrera, Schneiderlin, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Martial, Rooney
