The teams are out for Manchester United’s encounter with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon, and, well, they don’t exactly make for great reading. Injuries to Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia were always going to force José Mourinho into reshuffling his back four, though he’s shaken things up even more than anticipated. Daley Blind drops to the bench, with Phil Jones — yes, that’s Phil Jones; Jones, Phil; Philip Anthony ‘Phil’ Jones — coming in alongside Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian. Woof.
In midfield, Michael Carrick, Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini are both given starting berths, while Paul Pogba has happily been deemed fit to start. It could well be that we see a change in formation, with both Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimović given the nod up top. At this stage it’s anyone’s guess, but it looks to us like it could be a diamond, with Mata playing in the hole. It’s almost that time to climb behind the sofa, folks ...
