Paul Pogba’s tax arrangements cause a stir

According to a leak, Paul Pogba has his mammoth image rights money handled in the tax haven of Jersey.

As if we needed reminding of football’s dark underbelly, a Football Leaks report has lifted the lid on some of the financial arrangements of Manchester United star Paul Pogba. The Daily Mail have translated some of the juicy information revealed by Mediapart, with the headline news being the fact his image rights are held in the tax haven of Jersey.

However, that’s not all the report has to say. Pogba is apparently at the centre of an ‘open war between two agents - Walid Tanazefti and Mino Raiola.’ The latter reportedly earned around £8.4 million from Pogba's spell at Juventus, and that's not even counting the £24m fee United paid Raiola directly as part of the Pogba negotiations.

Tanazefti, meanwhile, had reportedly owned Pogba's image rights since 2014, though sold them to Raiola when Pogba renegotiated a big sponsorship deal with Adidas. Suffice to say, we don’t expect any of the parties involved will be needing to stick their hands down the back of the sofa in the near future ...
