More injury news! Speaking to the assembled press ahead of United's game against West Bromwich Albion tomorrow, grumpy-faced man Jose Mourinho informed the nation that Chris Smalling, who you may remember having one of the shockers of the season against Chelsea, will be back in the squad for tomorrow.
However, still out of contention will be Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw. We don't have any firm return date for Shaw, but the other two are expected to be back for Sunderland at home on December 26th. Assuming Phil Jones hasn't dropped a turkey on one of their heads.
His return gives Mourinho options at the back. With Shaw missing, Smalling could come into the centre, allowing Marcos Rojo to take his trademark brand of inexplicably-forgiven violence out to leftback. Or Rojo could drop to the bench altogether, on the basis that these things even themselves out over time, and his current karmic debt is such that a referee could send him off for sneezing and he wouldn't have any grounds to complain.
Either way, have a look at the photo we've got up there. What a wonderful thing that is.
