Altogether now! Yip Jaap Stam is a big Dutch man (ager) (of Reading) (who are playing Manchester United in the FA Cup third round) ...
Hmm. Doesn't really scan. But nevertheless, here we are: one of United's finest and most terrifying central defenders is coming back to Old Trafford as a manager. He's been in charge of Reading since the summer, and his side currently sit third in the Championship table, six points back from Newcastle in first.
The tie will be played at some point between the 6th and 9th of January 2017. United will probably be on television, because (a) they're the cup holders and (b) United's FA Cup games are always on television. It's probably the law.
United haven't played Reading since March 2013, when a single Wayne Rooney goal was enough to secure a 1-0 league win. They last played in the cup just a month before that game, in February 2013, and goals from Nani and Javier Hernandez saw United through.
