With widespread reports suggesting that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to add to his defensive options when the January transfer window opens, it appears that several players could be shipped out of Old Trafford to make way for potential new recruits.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that both Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay could be set to leave the club, with the duo having been excluded from Manchester United’s squad to face Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League tomorrow.
The MEN claims that Everton and Roma are keen to take Depay off United’s hands, while Mourinho is also willing to part ways with Schneiderlin, who was signed from Southampton for £25 million in the summer of 2015.
In addition to Depay and Schneiderlin, Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini is another player being touted for a move away from the 20-time champions in January, with the Telegraph reporting that West Ham United are interested in signing the former Everton player.
The Telegraph’s report claims that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic views Fellaini as a potential option to bolster his side’s flagging attack, and, if he is able to sign the United player, will use him further up the field than has been the case during his three seasons in Manchester.
