Bad news for Danish Wayne Rooney fans. Manchester United's captain has not travelled with the rest of the squad to Denmark, and will not be gracing the MCH Arena with his presence. We don't know precisely why he's missing — at a guess, he's being rested — but luckily for everybody Louis van Gaal will be talking to the press later today.
Also missing are Matteo Darmian, who dislocated his shoulder against Sunderland, Marouane Fellaini, who has still not returned to the squad, and Bastian Schweinsteiger, who is still gadding about on holiday, the lazy so-and-so. As such, there's a youthful air about the squad: weekend debutant Donald Love is present, along with Regan Poole, Joe Riley and James Weir, none of whom have yet appeared for the first team.
Tremble in fear, FC Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, at the full Manchester United squad: David De Gea, Sergio Romero, Donald Love, Paddy McNair, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Regan Poole, Joe Riley, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Morgan Schneiderlin, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, James Weir, Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial, Will Keane.
Update: apparently Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, whose absence we completely failed to notice earlier, has simply been rested and should return at the weekend.
