The Mirror says that Jose Mourinho is close to agreeing a deal with Manchester United, according to reports in Italy. You can believe them or not, but the Busby Babe can exclusively reveal that at least one source close to Jorge Mendes is confident of the deal being done. That's right, we 'understand' it.

Here's an article in the Telegraph which explains why United didn't get Pep Guardiola. If you wanted Guardiola, fair enough, but there's no point him working with someone as clueless as Ed Woodward, from his point of view.

Speaking of Woodward, there's a story in the Manchester Evening News that his position will come under scrutiny in the next quarterly meeting for investors. About time. Well, about two years' late, about time.

Thomas Tuchel, the Borussia Dortmund manager, is quoted in the Daily Mail as having said that Adnan Januzaj's mind was still partly back in Manchester during his loan period. He needs a run of games, soon, but it hard to imagine Mourinho will trust a player of his kind.

And on ESPNFC, there's a rumour that Manchester United bid £144 million for Neymar. He'll get a new contract at Barcelona and we can go back to ignoring this, soon.
