There aren't too many surprises in Manchester United's Europa League squad, not least because Manchester United don't have so many players that they can be leaving anybody out. One unfamiliar name is in, however: teenage defender Regan Poole.
Poole, still only 17, joined the club on 1 September 2015 from Welsh side Newport County, though due to problems over his international clearance — yes, apparently so, even from Wales to England — he was unable to appear for the club until 1 February. He has since made an appearance in an U21 game, been given squad number 41, and could make his debut against FC Midtjylland.
Here's the full squad. Also of note: Luke Shaw! Will Keane!
Goalkeepers: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone
Defenders: Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Shaw, Varela, Darmian, Poole
Midfielders: Mata, Carrick, Blind, Young, Herrera, Valencia, Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Lingard
Forwards: Rooney, Martial, Memphis, Keane
(Do remember that there is a B-list, which comprises players that born after 1 January 1994 that have been with the club for at least two years. That, presumably, is where we'll find Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Paddy McNair and Andreas Pereira.)
