The Guardian says that Louis van Gaal believes the speculation over his job, and specifically Jose Mourinho replacing him is 'hurtful nonsense.' It's not nonsense - talks are ongoing. It might be hurtful, but he could have kept all this at bay by being a less awful manager this season, and stopped being so unambitious and cautious. It is often tempting to have sympathy for Van Gaal, as it clearly isn't a happy experience for him right now, but he does play Marouane Fellaini every match.
In the Mail, Oliver Holt thinks that Manchester United should appoint the poisonous Ryan Giggs. Ha ha ha haha ha ahah ahhahhaa. Thanks. No.
The Mirror's transfer round-up includes a story that Manchester United made a £23 million signing for Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan. They could go back into him for the summer, but it might be worth remembering that transfers will now be dictated by Mourinho and, you'd expect, Jorge Mendes, more than they will be by anyone else.
In the Telegraph, they quote Mourinho, who says that he will be returning to manage in England soon. July or earlier, basically.
On ESPNFC, the absolute state of that.
