Oh, look! Alex Ferguson has been briefing against Jose Mourinho getting the United job in the Mirror today. Not content with destroying the club along with the Glazers, he also wants the poisonous Ryan Giggs to get the gig next.

Liverpool striker Divock Origi has said he is content with avoiding joining Manchester United at 15. Fair enough, but he must be less happy that he ended up at Liverpool instead. You can read about that in the Telegraph.

Currently awful manager Louis van Gaal is quoted on ESPNFC as saying that he thinks United are better this year than last season. It's a marginal call, and either way the level of performance is unacceptable for the money spent.

The Mail have a story that United remain interested in Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. He seems like a superior player to Wayne Rooney, but then that is true of most professional, and amateur, players these days.

And the last in a poor haul of stories: Guillermo Varela almost left in January but didn't. Thank you, the Manchester Evening News.
