Manchester United fly to China on Tuesday to kick off their series of pre-season friendlies, but they may do so without marquee summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimović. The 34-year-old striker -- who is currently holidaying in the United States -- could, according to the Guardian's Jamie Jackson, be given a longer period to recover from his efforts at Euro 2016.

That's in contrast to United's England contingent, which is comprised of Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling and Marcus Rashford. According to Jackson, they're all likely to travel to China, but will not feature in in the friendlies against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City in Shanghai and Beijing respectively. United will then take on Galatasaray in Gothenburg, in which Zlatan is expected to be handed his United debut.

The other two summer signings, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan -- neither of whom were involved in international fixtures over the summer -- are both expected to feature in the upcoming tour.
