Considering that people who know about such matters have often suggested that Andreas Pereira is one of Manchester United’s most talented young players, it is extremely frustrating that he’s scarcely been given a chance to feature in the first team. If new reports are to be believed, we won’t get to see him at all: the Belgian-born Brazilian is subject to strong interest from reigning Premier League champions Leicester City.
The Sun’s Daniel Cutts writes that: “Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri tried to get the 20-year-old on a six-month loan deal back in January,” and is now ready to make an attempt at signing Pereira on a permanent deal.
But that said, the same article quote an unnamed United source as saying Pereira "is highly-rated at Old Trafford and we want to keep him.” It seems like it isn’t a done deal just yet. However, with José Mourinho having a notoriously poor record with bringing through youngsters (a point rather unfortunately proved by the list he produced in his introductory press conference), Pereira may well consider it in his best interest to try and force a move through.
