Could Manchester United midfielder be set for speedy exit?

Paris Saint-Germain's new manager Unai Emery is interested in bringing Bastian Schweinsteiger to the Parc des Princes, according to the Daily Mail's Simon Jones. The injury-prone German international, who is currently on international duty at the European Championships, only signed for United from Bayern Munich last summer, though his departure could already be imminent. Jones writes:

United have yet to receive any formal approach but would be open to talks over the Germany international, whose first season in the Premier League has been blighted by injury.

The news will probably come as a disappointment to many United supporters, with the 31-year-old having quickly become a fan favourite despite an underwhelming first season at Old Trafford. United are also not particularly well-stocked in the centre of midfield, so letting him go could well leave José Mourinho a little light on options -- especially with Wayne Rooney not likely to be given a chance as a holding midfielder.

Then again, if we really are going to sign Paul Pogba, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea after all ...
