It’s taken a while, but Manchester United are finally getting a hang of this social media lark. They’ve not only offered us plenty of photographs of Henrikh Mkhitaryan holding his new United shirt at various jaunty angles, but they’ve also provided a clip that is at once informative and eminently memeable: a video of the Armenian pronouncing his own name.
Henrikh kindly offers both Armenian and English versions of his surname, though if we’re honest, neither of them sound particularly conducive to chanting. However, where there’s a Stretford End there’s a way, and we’re sure to hear one reverberating around Old Trafford before too long.

Mkhitaryan is United’s third signing of the summer, after centre-back Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimović. According to José Mourinho, we can still expect one more arrival before the close of the window, though a need to offset any important departures means we may not be done there. Let’s hope future signings are a little less syllabic ...
