Juan Mata starts for Manchester United against Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho has made two changes from the side that started the Community Shield.

There are no real surprises from Jose Mourinho's first (properly) competitive Manchester United lineup.

David de Gea continues in goal, as we all hope he will until the sun withers and dies, cold and small and red in the sky, while the last peoples on earth scrape limp crops from the weak soil. In front of him, we have the same defence as the Community Shield: Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia.

Marouane Fellaini has been forgiven his moment of inexplicability, and anchors the midfield alongside Ander Herrera. An injury to Jesse Lingard necessitates a change further forward, and Juan Mata's been asked to slot in. Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial continue, as does Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Still a bit weird, that.

On the bench, ready to replace Juan Mata after ten minutes, we've got Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford.
