We’ve finally got official word on Paul Pogba’s imminent return to Manchester United. United have unexpectedly confirmed reports that the Frenchman has landed in England ahead of a medical at the AON Training Complex, and posted the following short statement on the club’s official website:
Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United.
The link was accompanied on Twitter by an image bearing the hashtag #POGBACK, so it’s clear the club aren’t expecting any unforeseen hitches from here. If they do, we can only imagine the social media intern will be swiftly dismissed.

This announcement presumably means the remaining questions over finances have now been answered, and we can probably expect official confirmation in the next day or two. For the time being, however, José Mourinho will surely be attempting to keep all focus on United’s Community Shield encounter with Leicester City, which kicks off imminently.
