The teams are out for Manchester United’s Community Shield clash with Leicester City, which kicks off at Wembley in less than an hour (4 p.m. BST, 11 a.m. ET). The big news is that two United players are given their debuts from the off, with Eric Bailly partnering — unexpectedly — Daily Blind in the centre of defence, and Zlatan Ibrahimović spearheading the attack.

There is no space in the starting lineup for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with Jesse Lingard given a start on the right of United’s attacking midfield trio just a few months after he netted the winning goal at this ground in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace. Mkhitaryan is joined on the bench by Morgan Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera, who lose out to Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini in midfield. It’s clear that even at this late stage of pre-season, Mourinho is continuing to experiment with his selection.
