Henrikh Mkhitaryan's miserable week continues, as Football365 bring us news that at some point during that appalling first half against Manchester City, he aggravated the thigh injury that he'd picked up on international duty and will miss United's next three games: Thursday's Europa League game against Feyenoord; Sunday's Premier League game against Watford; and the League Cup tie against Northampton Town.
Of course, he might not have played anyway, since Jose Mourinho appears to have decided that when a manager asks a player just back from injury to do a job that doesn't need doing, and that player is then rubbish and also, we learn now, re-injuring himself, this displays a deep and fundamental weakness of character, and that player must then be punished. Sorry, evaluated on their performance.
In addition — we don't read the Sun, but F365 do, so this is excitingly third-hand — it's being reported that Mkhitaryan is "frustrated" that he isn't being played in his favoured position. All in all, fair to say this isn't going particularly well. Never get excited about anything, kids. It's the hope that kills you.
