The teams are out for today’s encounter between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford. There are no surprises in the United lineup, though it’s good to see Marcos Rojo back after a short layoff. He partners Phil Jones in the centre of defence, with Chris Smalling made to settle for a place on the bench. Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are the full-backs.
Michael Carrick starts at the base of a midfield also containing Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba; Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are preferred to Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata either side of Zlatan Ibrahimović. All in all, it looks like United’s strongest possible lineup — let’s hope it shows on the field.

Liverpool are without Joël Matip, while they await international clearance after the Cameroon international withdrew from his side’s AFCON squad. Meanwhile, a late injury to Nathaniel Clyne means another unfamiliar face comes into their defence with summer signing Ragnar Klavan: it's quite the occasion for teenage local lad Trent Alexander-Arnold to make his first ever Premier League start.
