Love him, hate him, or find him a strange combination of pleasant and deeply frustrating, Wayne Rooney has now scored more goals for Manchester United than any other human. Which isn't bad going. Here, NBC take a look back at some of his most notable strikes.
Personal favourites? This particular aspect of tBB hasn't thought about it in any great detail yet — that'll be a later piece, perhaps — but it's hard to remember anything more straightforwardly exciting than that debut hat-trick. At the time, it seemed like he could do anything. And everything. And he did, after a fashion.
Anyway, here's what the man himself had to say about crushing Bobby Charlton beneath his feet:
It's a great honour - I'm very proud. It's difficult at the minute to be over-pleased because of the result - two points dropped. But in the grand scheme of things, it's a great honour. It's something I never expected when I joined the club. But I'm delighted and I'm very proud. It's been great - we've been very successful and there's more to come. I'm proud to play for this club and to be the all-time top scorer is a huge honour and is something that will live with me for the rest of my life.
Or at least until Marcus Rashford gets going, anyway.
